Construction begins on the new innovation wing at the Princess Máxima Center
3 juli 2026
With the ceremonial first pile driven into the ground, construction of the new innovation wing at the Princess Máxima Center has officially begun. Thanks to the multi-year strategic partnership with Rabobank, a long-held ambition is now becoming a reality.
The new innovation wing, covering approximately 5,000 square meters, will expand the Máxima Center’s capacity by bringing groundbreaking research, innovation, and care even closer together. This is essential because many forms of childhood cancer are rare and fundamentally different from adult cancers. That is why continuous innovation is vital.
The innovation wing will provide space for new research groups focused on faster diagnostics using artificial intelligence, as well as the further development of immunotherapy and cell therapies. This will help make better treatments available sooner, leading to higher cure rates and fewer side effects. The innovation wing will also create opportunities for collaborative programs at the local, national, and international levels.
With this expansion, the Princess Máxima Center, together with Rabobank and many other partners, is taking an important step toward achieving its mission: to cure every child with cancer, with optimal quality of life. Your support, whether large or small, remains essential in making this possible.
Together, we make a difference in the lives of children with cancer.
