Leaving a legacy

Would you like to help make the world of children with cancer a little brighter? You can do so by leaving a gift to the Princess Máxima Center in your will. Your legacy will fully benefit the Máxima Center, as we are exempt from inheritance tax. In addition, your gift will be given a carefully chosen purpose within the Máxima Center. This way, you truly make a difference, now and in the future of our children. Below, we explain how leaving a gift to the Máxima Center works. Leaving a legacy to us

Thinking about your will can be difficult, and we understand that. That is why we have specialized relationship managers who are happy to support you. They will help ensure that your wishes are clearly recorded in your will. You can also specify the purpose you would like your legacy to support. This provides clarity and peace of mind. Leaving a gift to Princess Máxima Center is a meaningful way to let your values and impact live on.

How does leaving a gift in your will work?

You can choose between two ways to include Princess Máxima Center in your will:

  • an inheritance: the Máxima Center becomes a (co-)beneficiary, and you decide whether this applies to your entire estate or a part of it

  • a bequest: the Máxima Center receives a specific amount of money or certain assets designated by you, such as a car, house, or investment portfolio

Princess Máxima Center Foundation has ANBI status. This means the Dutch tax authorities do not levy inheritance tax on your legacy. As a result, your gift goes directly to projects that support our children.

Recording a legacy

If you would like your wishes to be recorded in a will, it is always necessary to have this arranged by a civil-law notary. A handwritten document is not legally valid. You can include Princess Máxima Center in your will under the following name: Stichting Princess Máxima Center Foundation, with its registered office in Utrecht at Heidelberglaan 25, 3584 CS, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 56702361.

Information for the executor

Have you been appointed as an executor, or are you acting in this role as a civil-law notary, and is Princess Máxima Center included in the will? In memoriam

Would you like to support the Princess Máxima Center during a funeral or at another moment in memory of a loved one? Through our In Memoriam platform, you can easily create a digital fundraising page. Invite family, friends, colleagues, and others to make a donation. The link can also be included on the funeral announcement. Every contribution is immediately visible and goes directly to the account of our Foundation.
