Curing as many children as possible, with as few side effects as possible. That is what you contribute to with your gift so that our children can dream of a future.
Your contribution makes the difference
Why is every donation to the Princess Máxima Center so important? Donations are crucial for facilities and projects that cannot be paid for through insured healthcare. Our children, parents and doctors also indicate that these are projects that are indispensable to the healing process.
For example, you contribute to:
Activities such as sports and play programs focused on recovery and distraction, so children do not think about their illness for a while
Getting parent-child rooms ready for every new family, so they can create a home of their own where they can be with their child day and night
The personal development, both physical and mental, of our children during and after illness
Necessary research and innovative treatment methods that directly contribute to a better chance of cure, such as CAR T-cell therapy; a form of immunotherapy
Sharing knowledge with hospitals all over the world, such as the American St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the German Hopp-KiTZ kindertumorcentrum.

Our policy is centered on children
We try to keep fundraising costs as low as possible, so that we can spend as much money as possible on better treatments for children. The board members of the Princess Máxima Center Foundation do not receive a salary. The other staff fall under the Dutch Hospitals Collective Labor Agreement. We also pay attention to reducing negative impact on the living environment and the environment. Think of energy saving, separated waste processing, sustainable purchasing, mobility and accessibility.

- Why is my support needed?In the Netherlands, about 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year. Most children are cured, but still 2 to 3 children die each week. That is unacceptable and must change.
- Results thanks to your supportAt the Princess Máxima Center we work every day toward 100% cure of children with cancer. We cannot do this alone. With your support, better treatmentsand improved quality of life come closer. Together we make a difference for these children.
- About the FoundationThe Princess Máxima Center relies on funding to continue improving treatments for children with cancer. As you might know, standard medical treatment in the Netherlands is covered by health insurance. However, much more is needed.This includes programs for children and families, sports and physical activity, mental support, distraction and well-being initiatives, and the ongoing search for even better treatments. These essential elements are not automatically funded.Significant financial support is required to make this possible. That is where the Foundation plays a crucial role.
